About Us
Fisk Street Primary
School has an enrolment of

170 students spread across eight classes.
The school has
a full-time counsellor, an Aboriginal Education Teacher
and an Aboriginal Community Education Officer.
There is a strong
emphasis on student and staff wellbeing. Our school's Code of
Cooperation has four values: honesty, respect, doing your best and
teamwork. These values are taught explicitly through Circle Time, Child
Protection Curriculum and the National Values Education Program.
Literacy is a strong focus area; 'Accelerated Literacy' is taught R
- 7.
The school will have the involvement of two literacy
coaches and one leadership coach for the next three years (beginning in
2009) through the Supporting Improved Literacy Achievement Project.
Respecting different cultures, particularly indigenous culture, is emphasised and
taught throughout the school. Both NAIDOC and Reconciliation Weeks are
celebrated. Health education has a priority and is explicitly taught
through practical programs that use outside agencies where applicable.
Sports involvement is encouraged and the school has committed to the
'Eat Well Be Active' program.
